Ingredients

Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown sausage, breaking into small crumbles. Drain excess grease, leaving ~1 tbsp. (5–7 minutes).
Add cubed Velveeta to warm sausage, stir until melted and smooth. Season with optional spices (3–4 minutes).
Place rye bread slices on baking sheets. Spread ~1 tablespoon sausage-cheese mixture evenly on each slice, covering edges.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 8–10 minutes until bubbly. For golden tops, broil 1–2 minutes. Serve immediately.
