Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon butter unsalted, for sautéing
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 ½ cups long grain white rice rinse 2-3 times before cooking
  • 2 ½ cups chicken bone broth or vegetable stock low sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley for flavor
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust based on broth's saltiness
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper freshly cracked for seasoning
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium-sized pot over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  • Stir in the rice to coat it evenly with the garlic butter.

  • Add the chicken bone broth (or vegetable stock), dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine, then bring to a boil.

  • Cover with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and simmer gently for about 15 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed.
  • Uncover and stir in the fresh parsley.
  • Remove the pot from the heat, cover, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, allowing the rice to steam and become tender.
  • Fluff the rice with a fork, then stir through the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
