  • 1 loaf Brioche or challah - Day-old cut into 1″ cubes
  • 8 slices Sourdough - Thick cut optional alternative
  • 4 slices French bread - Thick cut optional alternative
  • 4 slices Texas toast - Thick cut optional alternative
  • 8 large Eggs - Room temperature
  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Whole milk - Or half-and-half for extra richness
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt - Kosher or sea salt
  • ½ cup Brown sugar - Light or dark
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter - for streusel or topping
  • 4 oz Cream cheese - Cut into small chunks
  • Maple syrup - For serving
  • Orange zest - Freshly grated for serving

Instructions

  • Cut the day-old bread into cubes and air-dry until slightly firm
