  • 1 cup Dark beer or stout - Optional; replace with more broth if preferred
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • To taste Salt and pepper

For the Pastry:

  • 2 packages 17 oz each Puff pastry - Thawed, or 2 batches homemade shortcrust
  • 1 Egg Beaten for egg wash

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 cup Frozen peas - Add for extra vegetables
  • 8 oz Mushrooms - Sliced
  • 1 Parsnip - Diced
  • Fresh herbs - Rosemary sage
