Ingredients

Instructions
Heat skillet over medium. Add sausage, breaking into chunks. Cook until browned with fat rendered.
Sprinkle flour over sausage and fat. Stir 2–3 minutes until mixture smells toasty (like wet sand).
Pour cold milk in three stages, whisking constantly until smooth. Continue cooking 5–7 minutes until thickened.
Add black pepper and salt. Adjust thickness with more milk if needed.
Ladle over biscuits or desired sides. Garnish with extra pepper if you like it bold.
